Holiday drawing time

Sory for not writing... (If anybody even waited for me to write because I have some doubts if anybody even reads my blog) but I am now on holidays since a long long time ago...but I will be back in one and a half week. And when I will be back I plan to get going with the blog so be prepared. Firstly I want to start with some fanfiction writing and contionue with my story. And secondly I have some very interesting stuff to share with you connented with my holidays (an English university guide and maybe do some quizzes with prizes ro win)

So that is to come in a weeks time...for now as I am with only my phone and don't fancy writing on my phone I just wanted to share a few of my new drawings with you.

Both are done with copic markers but the second one was in black and white but I coloured it digitally (hmm...on my phone I  a very simple photo program so I don't know if that even counts) ;)

The first one is some kind of a try to capture a feeling that I had once. I just wanted to point out that the photo is poor quality and that the person has no eyes which was intentional.

The second one is a CD cover that we had to plan in my class to an album of one chosen band (they had to be from Oxford)
So we chose "The Candyskins" ;) you can listen to one of their songs on you tube (for example "Car crash") cause as I stated earlier I can only edit posts on my phone which makes adding links almoast impossible ;)

So that is all for today. If you are reading this and you like my blog you can comment.  It is always better to know if anybody is reading :)

Than if you like reading fanfics (and since I plan to write one) you can tell me which fandom would you like me to include.  I personally was thinking about something connected with "Continuum" but it is not so popular and I am afraid that not everybody would be able to enjoy it (although it us a really great TV series and you can watch it if you want :) ) So I am open for your proposals and wait for comments. :)

See you in one week's time!

Liebster blog award

Sorry for not writing for so long but it is the end of the school year and everything is kind of crazy. ;)

Ok, so I wanted to announce that Riley Sinclair nominated me to the Liebster blog award (you can check out her blog here). I wanted to thank you Riley because this nominaton really means so much to me ;) I also have to say that your description of my blog was absolutely perfect. If i were to describe it wouldn't have been any better. You captured every acpect of my blog so clearly and it makes me really happy cause I see taht people reading my blog acully know what I am trying to express.

What I am planning to do today is to write 11 facts about me that you may not know yet. Than answer 11 questions asked by Riley, nominate next bloggers to the award and ask them 11 questions as well.

The problem lies in nominating the bloggers cause I am really new to this whole blogging idea. I spent a huge amonut of time looking for some good blogs that haven't been nominated yet in the last two months but I couldn't find anything. So I nominated only one of you but whenever anybody who reads that feels like aswering mine questions you can accept my nomination. Just leave some information in the comments.

So here are the facts:

1. One year ago I started attending classes of Irish dance (it is really a great fun and if you like dancing you should certinly try it)

2. Although my blog is mostly concentrated on arts and other similar stuff I am acually in a class with an extended maths and physics programme and I want to go and study computer science (my current dream is to go to Cambridge but we will see how this one will turn out;) )

3. There was a time that I loved photography butnow I don't anymore. But I still love old cameras, being in a darkroom and the whole idea of photographical independance.

4. I cook a lot and love it but I hate washing the dishes after (or even putting them in a dishwasher) So when I grow old and I will have my own flat I plan on having only paper or plastic plates forks and knives.

5. My favourite food is sushi and my favourite kind of sushi is a shrimp-salmon roll baked in the oven with teryaki sauce.

6. I love the smell of freshly cut grass.

7. I hate talking about politics altough I have some very strong opinions on some issues

8. I read a lot of good and appreciated literature but the ones I love most are always the ones with happy endings.

9. I love beeing around other people so whenever I am alone I am always bored. The thing I was always afraid most is the posiibility of losing everybody and beeing completely alone.

10. When I was very young I was afraid of singing raindeers.

11. I love to sing but I am so hoplless at it so I can do it only when nobody is home (or if I am taking a shower - if you have wathed one of the newest Woody Allen's films "To Rome With Love" than you know what I mean. If you haven't you can watch this and this and see what I mean)

Now I wil do my best and answer all Riley's questions:

1.What is your favorite song and why? Paul Simon's "Boy in the bubble". I love all his lyrics but this one is accually special in many ways. I feel very conneced to the message it sends. It shows that technology is both scary and amazing. Fringtening and wonderful. And first of all that no matter how much we are scared of the results we need it.
2.How do you show love to the people you care about? I never was an emotional person so I seldom show my emotions to others even to my family. If I care about somebody they often even know about this which I often regret.
3.Is there something in your life that can make you smile no matter what? If and what is it? I think that what makes me smile are mostly other people. When I have company of people that I like I enjoy doing most of the things. Even standing in the queue can be much fun.
4.Name an accomplishment that you're proud of. I am proud of everything that I done in my life. I do not regret anything but my latest accomplishment that I was more than proud of was thefact that I got into third best high school in the country.
5.What is your favorite article of clothing? My vintage watch and my handmade Doctor Who sneakers.( I may post a photo one day).
6.Do you think graffiti is vandalism or art? It depends on where it was made. I love graffities but when they are made without permission of the owner they are becoming an act of vandalism. Near my house there is a 300 metres long wall on which you can express yourelf whenever you want and I love to watch all of the new graffities every week.
7.What is your favorite genre of music? Country and folk rock. I can't really decide between those two. Both are special in their own way and making a decision on this is almoast impossible.
8.Describe the best dream you've ever had! Maybe it is strange (or maybe it isn't) but I acually don't remember any of my good dreams. I only remember those bad and those weird. So mabey I will tell you my strangest instead. Once I had a dream in wchih I was chased by a gorilla who escaped from the zoo. It was big - even bigger than king kong. It was a long dream full of hiding and other stuff but what I rember the most it's that when it already catched me he ordered me to eat an sunnyside egs (which I hated then)
9.What's one thing do you do for self-care? (In other words, what is one way you recharge?) I usually read a book or just sit eating something tasty and think about all the things that I didn't have time t think during the day.
10.You just won a free vacation to anywhere in the world! Where are you headed? New Zeland. I've always wanted to go there but I never coul'd because it is sooo far from my country, and the tickets cost a fortune.
11.Why do you blog? That's a though one. There are acually a few reasons. First is annonimity. I am a very shy person and in my "normal" life I am not able to fully express myself because I am afraid of what other people might think. I guess that it is easier to do this through the internet. Secondly It is just so good to be heard. It gives do much satisfacion. And that feeling when you recieve a new positive comment. It always make me fall asleep with a broad smile on my face.

I nominate:

1. Klassic kitty by Daisy-Chan. Really short posts but every one of them is acopmanied by a cute drawing or even a few, which are acually in a style similar to mine. I want you to know that your drawings are really cute and I hope that you continue to write regullary.
2. And anyone who acually wants to aswer this nomination. ;)

Okey so here are my questions:
1. What is your favorite school subject.
2. If you could choose one book, movie, TV series etc. that you could spend a week in, what would it be?
3. If you could choose one fictional character who would fall in love with you, who would it be?
4. What is your dream job? 5. What do you like to eat for your breakfeast ?
6. What do you do if you fail achieving your goal?
7. Have you ever tried to write a poem?
8. Do you prefer to read paper books or e-books? Why?
9. Are you interested in a particular country culture? If yes, than what country is it?
10. Who inspires you the most?
11. What is your dream house?

So that is the end of today's post I hope you enjoyed reading and you got to know quite a fww interestong things things about me.   Now for the nominated ones. Post 11 facts ab o ut you than answer my qestions and at the end nominate how many other blogger that you want (I cant force you into nominating 11 because I myself nominated only three of you) and thing up your own 11 qestions to ask them. Good luck!

Sherlock - my not-so-ambitious art

So today I will be quick, cause I don't have much time. I just wanted to show you how I draw. So I post a little picture of Sherlock from BBC's "Sherlock" TV series, which is one of my favourite fictional chracters. The image has a bad quality but it is mainly because I have a bad scanner and it was drawn on the watercolor paper which is pretty think. It is drawn with copic markers. Some day I will tell you more about them (they are awesome but extremely expensive)

See you later ;)

The Voices

Welcome again I hope that you all enyojed my last post. It is time for the next one today i will give you a piece of my writing (a prologue) It is a part of a longer series and I plan on continuing it. For today I ask for understanig because it is not so easy to write something in foreign language(but I still hope there are no serious mistakes)

So enjoy reading and see you next time ;)

Prologue

That was the day on which the Voices spoke.

Still not understandable, losing themselves in the past and their own words. Repeating fragments of their previous statements. Reality and dream entwined with each otcher with no sense. Despite this everybody came to listen.

Elders and kids. Hunters and gatherers. They all stood together at the edge of The Forest afraid to
make even one little step further.

The Voices were with them always, despite the fact that most of the tribe mambers have never heard them until now, nobody ever questioned they existance. They just accepted it like their ancestors did for ages.

A little boy with shining amethyst eyes and short messy black hair was also listening. The forest had amazed him for years. He wanted to walk deserted paths in the moonlight, look at the sunlight filtering through the giant leafs, and admire the animals: huge butterflies traveling over fields, snakes hanging down from branches like colorful lianes. He felt as if The Forest should be his home. But yet he was afraid, so afraid of what he wanted to call home, of what he called his destiny. But more than enything he was afraid of The Voices and The Forest was their kingdom.
A boy with amethyst eyes have heard The Voices every day. He never told anyone. If he did they would have locked him down in a room with no exit. He would have become a slave of his own abilities. He didn't want to. He would have to listen to The Voices till his death, with no time for rest. In his village there were three people with a gif, two man and one women. Trapped inside a prison with no escape they soon went mad, becoming savage and unpredictable. He didn't know for how long he could hide his ability but he knew that if they find out it will be the end.

Suddenly a boy heard somebody calling his name. It wasn't a voice of his mother nor one of his three younger sisters. It was his voice, his own but a little bit more mature. He wasnt a child anymore but this voice sounded like a voice of a grown up person.

He heard it call him again and now he identified exactly where it was coming from. It came from the front, from The Forest. His amethyst eyes filled with fear and than determination. He took one step forewars, and than one more. He heard the silent whispers in the crowd behind him, and his mother shouting his name but he didn't turn back. The Voices from The Forest were now louder than ever, his name was spoken by thousends of beings. He had enough, he wanted them to stop but they wouldn't. He made a decision and with a few steps he managed to reach first trees. He heard someone scream and than everything was comsumed by bright light. A village at the edge of The Forest didn't exist anymore.

An introduction, treasures and a mystery

Hi, so I wanted to welcome you on my modest blog. I hope that you will be able to enjoy the posts. I dont want to make the welcome too long but I would like to state a few things before we begin.

I am not a native speaker so my English is not as good as you could expect, so i ask for patience. Of coure i will be grateful for any tips or correction of my mistakes. I hope that it won't interfere with anything.

The picture in the Header is mine. This is how i draw most of the things. I am particullary happy about this one because it turned out just as i wanted it to look like. I hope you like it too. Please give your opinion in comments below.

Today I would like to start my activity on this blog with a post about a writer that many of you probably love or at leat know her name. Ladies and Gentleman I give you... Agatha Christie

As one of my favourite authors I read already more than half of her books so i have a pretty good image of her writing style and the characters. This post will mainly consist of a list of her books witch a short decripcion, a list of characters and the books which I read will also have a brief opinion on it from my piont of view. I want to make a full list of all her books each witch a descreption but it is a lot of work so today i will give you the first seven books.

But i would like to start witch a short biography of Agatha (I don't want to bore you with unnecesary information. If you want to read a detailed biography you can do it here) and a bunch of interesting things that i got to know about her in the meantime.

Agatha Christie:

date of birth: 15 september 1890
date of death: 12 January 1976
artistic achievements:

  • 66 detective novels
  • 6 romances (written under the name Mary Westmacott)
  • 14 short story colletions
And now to the more interesting things (there will be more of them in the future i promise):

Treasure hunt

Agatha Chrisie once organised a treasure hunting. It took place on Manx island. The treasure hunt was based upon a short story "Manx gold" which was published in her last book "Until the Light Lasts". The story was written specialy for the hunt. Agatha accepted a grand worth 60 pound for her effort. On an island were four hidden treasures which the participants had to find with a help of a story. This kind of event never happened again. I don't know what you think but i would die to take part in it!

Here's a short description of the story:

Two cousins Fenella Mylecharane and Juan Faraker recieve a mysterious message from their uncle who died recently. He invites them to the island of Man for the reading of the will. They discover that their uncle was a rich man because of the treasure that he found of the island. They have to compete with other members of their family in search of the manx gold.

Mysterious disapearance:

On friday the third of December 1926 Agahta Christie left her home to disapear for 11 days. This mystey still hasn't been solved. No one knows why a rising cryminal literature star suddenly left her car near a lake and vanished. The search that was organised was one of the biggest in history. Even people as Arthur Connan Doyle were involved searching for clues that the famous author might have left behind her. Speculations about reasons of her disapearance varied from those which stated that she had an amnesia to those which assumed that she was kidnapped by aliens. Finally Agatha Christie was found in a spa hotel using an assumed name

And now to the list of the books:

The Mysterious Affair at Styles:

year of publishing: 1920
detective: Poirot
other characters: inspector Japp, Hastings
short description: story introducing Hercule Porot and Arthur Hastings. Poirot tries to settle down with a help of Emily Cavendish. When the lady is killed he together with his friend investigates her murder.
my opinion: When I first red this book I didn't know that it was her first one but something made me think so before i even checked that. Her style isn't here so clear and characteristic as it will be later and the plot is a little bit predictable. Although I enjoyed the image of young Poirot and again his friendship with Hastings is amusing as always. I also liked the fact that the book contained maps and drawings. It really helped to feel the atmosphere.

The Secret Adversary:

year of publishing: 1922
detective: Tommy and Tuppence
other characters: Julius Hersheimer
short description: Tommy and Tuppence meet each other. Both poorwithout money or perspectives for futur they decide to establish a company "The Young Adventurers, Ltd". Soon they find themselves in quite a dangerous situation fighting with an unknown enemy.
my opinion: I am a great fan of all the books futering Tommy and Tuppence. I really like the spirit that they have. I also think that they adventures are often "more adventerous" than most of the books with Jane Marple and Poirot. This book has a great and interesting set of chracters and Tommy and Tuppence who are new to this whole detective buisness bring a lot of freshness to the acion.

Murder on the Links:

year of publishing: 1923
detective: Hercule Poirot
other characters: Arthur Hastings
short description: Poirot recieves an offer from a client. He travels to France just to find out that the body of a men who wanted to hire him is found on a golf coure. A millionaire was stabbed in the back and found in a grave on a golf couse
my opinion: none (i will update it as soon as i wil read it)

The Man in the Brown Suit:

year of publishing: 1924
detective: none
other characters: Anne Beddingfeld, Colonel Race
short description: Anne Beddingfeld a youg girl comes to London in search of a job. But suprisingly she finds herself in a pursuit of a very dangerous adventur which leads her to Africa.
my opinion: This was my second Agatha Christie's book that i read. I realy enjoyed the fact that it futured a person who wasn't a detective or even working as a policeman. For me Anne being a well constructed character bring a lot of new exciting ways of fighing an enemy. I was slightly iritated by the romantic (wÄ…tek). It was very soapy and for me ruined a good part of the book. Although i really liked the pairing (no spoilers so i can't tell which) but the way that she (Agatha) presented their relationship was really annoying.

The Secret of Chimneys:

year of publishing: 1925
detective: none
other characters: Anthony Cade, Virginia Revel, Superintendtent Battle, Lady Eileen "Bundle" Brent
short description: Anthony Cade gets an unsusual request from his friend. He is supposed to bring a manuscript to London's publisher's office and deliver some letters to its owner. Soon the letters are stolen from his hotel room and a few people are interested in "taking cake" of the manustript.
my opinion: My first Agatha Christie's book. So very important moment for a person who just starts to read her books. If you choose the first one badly you can be () to the rest even if they are much much better. Although I have a grat sentiment to this book it doesn't belong to my favourites.

The Murder of Roger Ackroyd

year of publishing: 1926
detective: Poirot
other characters: Roger Ackroyd, Caroline Sheppard, Dr James Sheppard
short description: Death of mrs Feraras is at the beginning is believed to be an acident. Than suddenly Roger Ackroyd reveals that she commited a suicide after killing her husbend. He knew also that somebody has been blackmailing her before death. Than he is found dead with a knife in his back.
my opinion: I don't really have any particular feeling about this book. For me it is one of those books which you never remember very well. It has it fact an unpredictable ending but the plot itself is very boring and monotonous. I was alsovery annoyed be the fact that it its narration is first-person.

The Big Four

year of publishing: 1927
detective: Hercule Poirot
other characters: Arthur Hastings
short description: Hercule Poirot and Capitan Hastings are trying to uncover a dangerous group of criminals. The international intrigue puts Poirots life in danger.
my opinion: It is a quite short novel. I would say two times shorter than the regular size of Agatha's books. I enjoyed reading it mostly because it shows us Hercule Poirot in a different spot light. He is dealing with something unknown even to him. It makes the situation interesting because most of Poirots books show him as an always mysterius always knowing something others don't know. Here (although this book is still full of Poirots brilliant ideas) we can see him a little bit confused. Another plus (at least for me) is the presence of Hastings.

I wanted to end this with my personal Agatha Christie "stats"

number of books read: 48
favourite book: Destination Unknown
favourite short story: The Lonely God
favourite detective: Tuppence
favourite pairing: Hilary and Andy from Destination Unknown

See you soon next time ;) i am planning to do a steak cooking guide but if you have some other ideas you can write in comments.
